The starting point for this project was the combination of two everyday objects, a cookie cutter and a packet of toothpicks. Exploration took place to discover both objects’ properties and how they could work together to create a new hybrid product.

Consideration of how altering an object’s scale in order to completely change its application was what led to the creation of the giant toothpick that formed the legs for the tables. Using a bolted mechanism, the set of legs could be opened up to create a stable tripod.

The cookie cutter is a mass multiplication stencil. By using a stencil to drill 3 holes into any flat surface and slotting in a set of legs a table could be created.
